We always have fun activities in the works. And, we invite the community to join us, as we all can get involved whether it is as a participant, parent, other stakeholder, supporter, or ally.
All of this information on our blog can be accessed from our website, as well as our Facebook page. If you or someone you know is interested in participating or attending any of our activities and opportunities, contact us at bridget@youthlegacyfoundation.org or 612-272-0281.
Note that youth who participate must be accompanied by an adult, such as a parent or caregiver, if under the age of 18, and if over the age of 18 and have a legal guardian.
A quick look at our activity calendar:
Saturday, May 18, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Youth Leadership Brunch at the Minneapolis Central Library, B.C. Gamble and P.W. Skogmo Conference Room N-402
Saturday, May 25, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Volunteer Service Activity at Nursing Home
Leadership Brunches: We host monthly leadership brunches, where we have different themes that connect with our larger mission of volunteer service, leadership, mentoring, and peer mentoring. The next one is Saturday, May 18, from 3:30 to 5:00 at the Minneapolis Central Library, B.C. Gamble and P.W. Skogmo Conference Room N-402. The address is 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, 55401. Click here for the library’s website. This space does not allow food. We would like to invite youth to participate in a brainstorming session to share thoughts on possible content to include in our leadership curriculum library. We may also head over the the State Capitol to watch a House Floor debate on home care legislation, which would be a good political educational opportunity for youth. YLF is nonpartisan, and we encourage civic engagement.
Group Volunteer Service Activity: We will be volunteering as a large group at a nursing home/assisted living for seniors. Saturday, May 25, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will be visiting Cornerstone Assisted Living, located at 3750 Lawndale Lane N., Plymouth, MN 55446. For more information on this site, click here…
